ChatGPT recommends roofers whose details it can confirm: the services they do (replacement, repair, storm and insurance work), the cities they cover, their license or manufacturer certifications, and how long they've operated, written on their own site and matched on Bing Places, BBB, Angi and the city lists it reads.
In our 2026 study across 14 Dallas–Fort Worth cities, 42% of roofing companies with 4.6+ stars and 60+ reviews were not named by ChatGPT or Google's AI Mode. In one city, a roofer with a perfect 5.0 rating and nearly 400 reviews was left out while one with 12 reviews was named.
After a hail storm, homeowners ask AI who to call. The roofers it names tend to have a clear page for each service and each city they work in, consistent listings, and a mention on the local "best roofers" lists ChatGPT cites.
List your manufacturer certifications plainly if you have them, keep your business details identical everywhere, and check which lists ChatGPT is drawing from in your city.
